I remember the first time I heard a woman say that she was in love with Jesus. In my humanness I thought it odd and almost disrespectful. I loved Jesus but was I “in love” with Jesus
At the time I heard that term I was single and so was she and of course when your single, falling in love is what you want more than anything else. But you also want it be with the man that God has planned for you.
But then it hit me Jesus was in love with me!
Love according to bible is…
Love suffers long and it kind
Love does not envy
Love does not parade itself
Love is not puffed up
Love does not act rudely
Love does not seek it’s own
Love is not provoked
Love thinks no evil
Love does not rejoice in iniquity
Love rejoices in the truth
Love bears all things
Love hopes in all things
Love endures all things
Love never fails
And now these three things remain faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1Corinthians 13
Let that really sink in and resonate in your heart and soul. This is how the love of Jesus is toward us.
That is the love that Jesus has for you and me. Then on top of it all He went to Calvary to save our souls. He took on our sins, bore our iniquities, bled and died on a tree, was mocked and humiliated so that one day we can live forever in his presence. Free from pain and suffering.. free from the struggle.
If a man could love me like that and die for me so that he can spend eternity with me… what’s not to love… I am in love
